MP Series Positive Displacement Flowmeter by TrimecOrbital Piston PD - Multipulse Medium Capacity Positive Displacement Flowmeters

Principle of Operation

The Liquid enters into a precision machined chamber which contains an oscillating piston. The positioning of the piston divides the chamber into compartments containing an exact volume. The liquid pressure causes the piston to oscillate and rotate its centre hub. The movements of the hub are sensed through the meter wall by a series of magnets. Each revolution of the piston hub is equivalent to a fixed volume of liquid, which is indicated as flow by an indicator or totaliser. Close clearances between the piston and the chamber ensure minimum slippage of the liquid for highly accurate and repeatable measurement of each volume cycle.

Calibration – PD Flowmeters

All Trimec Flow Products positive displacement (PD) flowmeters are flow tested and each is supplied with an individual calibration certificate. Calibration is traceable to the National Measurements Institute (NMI) Australia. PD flowmeters, due to their application on a wide range of liquid viscosities, are calibrated at one point, multipoint calibration for PD meters is available on request at an additional charge.

Orbital Piston Meter Selection

Selecting the right meter for your application. Meters are selected based on flow range, pressure, temperature, material compatibility, and functionality.

Aluminium Multipulse meters 
ideal for petroleum products including oils and grease, fuels, and fuel oils.
  
Stainless steel meters 
suited for chemicals, water-based products, and the food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.
  
UPVC (SAP) meters
(20mm size only) ideally suited for special applications associated with a corrosive fluid such as sodium hypochlorite, acids, photographic solutions, or any chemical compatible with UPVC.
Multipulse meters 
available as blind meters with pulse output or with integral or remote totalisers, flow rate displays, or preset batch controllers.
  
Pulse meter
outputs can be interfaced with most electronic displays or instrumentation.  

 

MP015

The Trimec MP015 Series Positive Displacement Flowmeter can be threaded, flanged, or hygienic with a nominal flow range of 10 to 600 lph (2.6 to 160 USgal/hr)
